Section A8 Syrah was planted in 1971. It is a north east facing vineyard which is ideal for modern balanced Syrah. The soil is sedimentary and very high in iron which may explain some of the graphite characters that we often see in this wine.

SEASON 季节
2016 was another good growing season and particularly for Shiraz. Dry spring, timely rainfall in December, dry and warm to the end of summer.

TASTING NOTE 品酒词
Medium red with good purple. Ethereal, perfumed, spice, graphite, wild herb, autumnal, violets and very delicious.

WINEMAKING 酿造工艺
Fruit is hand harvested and hand sorted over a sorting table. 35% whole bunch fermentation. 18 days of maceration and fermentation with wild yeast. Pressed, settled overnight and filled to barrel via gravity. Allowed to mature for 12 months at 16-18°C in 500L and 2300L casks. Regular racking to give some air.
